The Game-Changer in Your Career: Business Coaching

Do you ever feel stuck in a rut? Feel frustrated and not fulfilled? The nagging thought is that something is missing, and you can’t put the finger on it. This is where a business coach comes in. If we would define what business coach means: It is a professional relationship in which the business coach helps the client identify their exact goals in their professional life and creates a tangible action plan, which is tailored to the client’s circumstances and needs.

Think of the business coach as your personal trainer for your professional life, guiding you toward your career goals.

Business Coach Types

If we say Business coach, this might be a broad title. Thus, there are different types of business coaches.

Let’s have a look at what does exist:

  • Executive Coaching: The audience is on a senior level, such as the C-Suite, and therefore has different needs and challenges to resolve and master, as the responsibility is higher and decisions need to be made that impact the whole organization and ultimately employees.
  • Career Coaching: Tailored toward the professional landscape and humans. I always notice that the topic around advancing in their career, higher positions, knowing how to present themselves, and becoming visible are the most common goals.
  • Entrepreneur Coaching: This type of coaching involves starting from the idea to the execution and is for humans who want to become their own boss. They have an idea and want it to turn into a profit, like turning their passion into profit.
  • Laser Coaching: A coaching modality focusing on short and concise coaching sessions for busy professionals who want immediate action points, execute, and come back. Like a fitness subscription. You can check my blogs about Laser coaching here

Love that modality. A combination of mentoring and coaching. Quick and impactful.  Above are just some snippets of the whole palette of business coaching and its possibilities.

What are the benefits of Business Coaching?

Why should you consider business coaching? It is simple: it is a shortcut for your career advancement. In the middle of your career, you realize that you want to be promoted or you want to change jobs. A business coach gives you all the tools you need to move on in your career, with powerful questions that trigger and open your mindset. Normally, that would also involve optimizing your LinkedIn profile and our CV, teaching you intentional networking, and practicing your elevator pitch.

For more senior roles, the leadership aspect comes in, which is about giving direction, guidance, listening skills, and more. It boils down to basic coaching skills: being capable of providing feedback, managing difficult conversations, and being an inclusive leader.

When discussing entrepreneurship, it would be around your product or services and their viability, and you validate your assumptions, business plan, pitch, and outlook.

In any scenario of your professional life, the business coach is your trusted companion. He will never let you down. He is beside you and will empower you, challenge you, show you your blind spots, hold you accountable, and ensure you will achieve your goals.

What about a story?

One of my clients was unhappy with what she was doing at her work. It was not according to her standards, boring and she did not feel fulfilled. In her previous job, she was a well-recognized banker who led many successful projects and initiatives. She was based in Turkey, though she married and followed her husband to the UK, having had a child in the meantime. She felt ready after several years to move on in her professional life, and we started our journey.

After two sessions, we could see what she was really looking for in terms of her passion and aspirations, and we started working on an action plan after the third session. We optimized her LinkedIn and CV and also worked on her elevator pitch and interview skills. It was obvious that networking was not as it should be at her level. We examined her existing situation, and I urged her to open up and be more involved in outside after-work and workshops, which resulted in an expansion and increase in self-confidence.

She applied for various jobs, and after three months, she got the job she was looking for, a director position in a well-known Bank in the UK.  This did not finish here. As she was promoted but never assumed a high position, we continued our coaching sessions to prepare her for this new responsibility. She suddenly faced imposing syndrome, which is normal behaviour.

The power of coaching and the return on investment is immense as it is for life long.

Investment in Business Coaching

Definitely, it is worth it, and it is not a luxury. It is a necessity. Imagine all the sports athletes out there do have their coaches for their entire life, as otherwise they can’t be successful.

Specifically, in this fast-paced environment, you need to be agile, respond quickly, and be aware of what is happening around you and your organization.

Conclusion

In summary, a business coach can be a game-changer for professionals looking to enhance their careers. The benefits are extensive, from goal setting to leadership development. If you’re ready to take your career to the next level, consider partnering with a business coach.
