About Saadet Kal
My name is Saadet Kal. I’m a food engineer with an MBA. After 13 years in various roles at corporate company, I decided to follow my passion and start my own brand.
I like to describe myself as the “President of the Candle-Lovers Club” — I truly love lighting candles. What started as a personal hobby, making candles for myself and my loved ones, soon turned into a creative venture when others began to admire my work.
I ran my brand in Türkiye for a year before relocating to Geneva due to my husband’s work. I brought my brand with me and have since continued crafting artisanal candles and hosting candle-making workshops here, sharing my passion and creativity with a new community.

DerKal Atelier was founded in 2024 in Istanbul with a passion for crafting high-quality, handcrafted candles made from natural soy wax. From the very beginning, the brand has been committed to using only the finest, eco-friendly ingredients, offering unique candles that blend artistry, sustainability, and thoughtful design.
After a year of serving customers in Türkiye, DerKal Atelier relocated to Geneva, bringing its creative spirit and craftsmanship to a new home. Here, I continue to create artisanal candles and share my craft through hands-on candle-making workshops, inviting others to experience the joy of creating with natural, mindful materials.
